วัดพระนั่งดิน
ตั้งอยู่ที่ ต�าบลเวียง อ�าเภอเชียงค�า เป็นวัดที่มีองค์พระประธานเก่าแก่ ประดิษฐานอยู่ คือ
“พระเจ้านั่งดิน” ซึ่งมีความพิเศษตรงที่ว่าองค์พระประธานนั้นจะไม่มีฐานรองรับเหมือนกับพระประธาน
องค์อื่น ๆ เป็นหนึ่งในสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์คู่บ้านคู่เมืองพะเยา มีต�านานที่น่าอัศจรรย์ และเคยมีผู้เฒ่าผู้แก่เล่าว่า
มีชาวบ้านเคยสร้างฐานรองรับ แล้วอัญเชิญพระเจ้านั่งดินขึ้นประทับ แต่ก็เกิดเหตุประหลาดขึ้น ฟ้าผ่า
ลงมาที่อุโบสถถึง 3 ครั้งด้วยกัน จึงอาราธนาลงมาประดิษฐานบนพื้นดินดังเดิมเหมือนทุกวันนี้
Wat Phra Nang Din
Located in Wiang sub-district, Chiang Kham district, this temple contains
an ancient principal Buddha image of “Phra Chao Nang Din”, which is unique in that
it does not have a base unlike other principal Buddha images. It is one of the most sacred
figures in Phayao. There is an amazing legend behind the Buddha image whereby elders
once said there were villagers who attempted to build a support base for the Buddha
image, but an unusual incident occurred. The Buddhist sanctuary was struck by lightning
three times. Thus, the villages decided to enshrine the Buddha image on the ground as
seen today.
